Professor Flora Salim is the inaugural CISCO Chair of Digital Transport, School of Computer Science and Engineering, UNSW Sydney, and the Deputy Director of the UNSW AI Institute. Her research is on AI and machine learning and on trustworthy AI, with specific interests on data-efficient learning with multimodal sensor data, time-series and spatio-temporal data, explainable AI, fairness and robustness, generative AI and foundation models, and continual learning of the open world. Flora’s research group – Context Recognition and Urban Intelligence (CRUISE) – consists of more than fourteen PhD students and five postdocs. She is actively recruiting for new members to join the group.
