Wilson Wongso is a PhD candidate in Computer Science at the University of New South Wales (UNSW) Sydney, 🇦🇺 Australia. He specializes in Natural Language Processing (NLP) and currently work as a casual Research Assistant at UNSW, focusing on geo-spatial querying using national varieties of English.

In addition, he is a part-time AI/ML Consultant/Engineer for Eluve and Bookbot. He works on a range of projects including speech recognition, speech synthesis, large language models (LLMs), and more.

He is also an independent researcher at Lazarus NLP. They work on open-source language models for languages of 🇮🇩 Indonesia. Their main goal is to revive the dying languages of Indonesia through speech and language technology. Their most recent publication is titled NusaBERT: Teaching IndoBERT to be Multilingual and Multicultural.
